CHARITY CONSTITUTION
1 NAME
The charity’s name is Strange Old Things Mobile Museum
2 THE PURPOSES OF THE CHARITY ARE:-
a. To advance education and benefit the community.
We aim to advance access to collections and understanding of heritage and culture at a local and national level. We aim to promote education, inspiration, enjoyment and inclusion. Education is meant in the charitable sense and is not propaganda or party political, but the museum may campaign around an issue relevant to its aims in order to inform the public.
b. To achieve our aims in a charitable manner.
Our museum has not been set up to undertake political or propaganda activities or regular trading activities, though it may carry out some trading in order to raise funds. It has not been set up to benefit personally its trustees or employees, though it may employ staff. Trustees are the members of the committee which runs the museum.
3 TRUSTEES
The charity shall be managed by a council of trustees who were appointed in April 2014.
4 CARRYING OUT THE PURPOSES
In order to carry out the charitable purposes, the trustees have the power to:

If the Trustees consider it is necessary to change the constitution, or wind up the charity, they must call a General Meeting so that the membership can make the decision. All decisions require a two thirds majority. Minutes must be kept.
a. Any money remaining after payment of debts must be given to a charity with similar purposes to this one.
b. The collection is to be dispersed amongst other relevant heritage organisations or museums with similar purposes provided that they intend to use the collection to benefit the public. Those items on loan from other organisations or individuals are to be returned.
